Sequoia National Park ~ Labor Day Weekend

Wow, what a long story. You know, when you just want to be home - this happens! We were stranded for about 4 hours because one of the wheel bearings completely shattered on the way down the mountain. Luckily, it happened at a gas station. More good fortune - Ernie and Phil. Ernie was our Good Samaritan. We could not have been back on the road with out him! Geoff had all the skill, but Ernie knew his way around this mountain town.

Such a proud moment. This is Geoff signing his Sequoia National Park Jr Ranger

Everytime we go to a National Park, Geoff goes through the proper course work to become a Jr. Ranger. This is Geoff graduating from the Sequoia National Park Jr. Ranger Program. I'm so proud! Now he has another patch for me to sew onto his motorcycle jacket. His biker friends must think he's so tough with his rough guy Jr. Ranger patches!

We had our picnic on a huge rock along a rushing river.

This is me walking through a pedestrian trunk tunnel.

There I am again (in orange) next to the worlds largest tree. I'm not sure the pictures do it justice - it was absoluately ginormous!

I'm not sure if this is classified as the "Worlds Largest Pine Cone", but I think it's a strong candidate!

Here's Geoff next to an uprooted tree. He's leaning against the underside of the root system. I also down loaded this because I love this smile!
As we sat peacefully to have a picnic, slowly a bear doddled our way. They are gutsy little critters. We couldn't believe it! We got our first live dose of "Bear Hazing". Scared the crap out of us! Geoff was able to catch it on video.

Markowski "Dom"
FYI: "Dom" is how you say Home in Polish.

So this is being added to the blog by popular request. So many people have wanted to see pictures of the Cleveland Browns room that instead of emailing the pictures over and over again, I am going to post them here so you can visit and re-visit as many times as you want! Enjoy:

These pictures were taken in August of 2009 so they are a little outdated. Not too much has changed. A couple of trinkets have been added here and there. Pictures of Josh Cribbs and Bernie Kosar have been added to the filing cabinets above.

Overall view of the office/browns room...

Eventually I would like to put some football helments or x's and o's on the field to act as a play sheet....

Some quality books and DVD's.. as well as head gear..

Unfortunately this investment is outdated already. Oh well.
Various pictures of sports memorabelia and of family tailgating a game...

More pictures. The one above is of Phil Dawson in the snowbowl of 2007 against the Buffalo Bills. The game winning field goal.

Pictures of Jim Brown and Otto Graham...

The first and greatest coach Paul Brown and a penant...
That is it for now. I might update this from time to time as the room improves!
The End

This was my Christmas present this year. We hung it up on the wall in our bedroom to constantly remind me how Polish I really am. Lacey bought it for me from some Polish Museum place in Michigan. It is pretty sweet!

This is obviously Ge-Off Markowski sporting some very elegant fashions of Brown and Orange next to the Polish rug

The rug has all of the different styles of the white eagle through-out the history of Poland as a country. The dates of its design enforcement is listed above each eagle. Remember Polaski Day this year!
